BLOOMINGTON CRIME PREVENTION ASSOCIATION CELEBRATes 30 YEARs HOSTING THE BOOK'EM USED BOok sale

The 2024 Book'Em Used Book Sale was held in June and was a great success for the BCPA, raising funds that go to organizations which serve Bloomington.  BPCA is thankful for the community's commitment to the event and to the fantastic Book'Em volunteers who gave of their time, talent and treasures.  Without the volunteers, Book'Em would not be possible.  Thank you.

The Book 'Em used book sale has been held annually since 1992.  The purpose of the sale is to generate funds that are awarded as grants to Bloomington organizations for crime prevention activities.   The sale has increased in size each year and is now one of the largest of its kind in the Upper Midwest.   We have many loyal customers and receive many compliments about the sale.  Here is one posted on Nextdoor by Bev A., "Most wonderful used book sale ever. I go every year wherever they are, much benefit to our community!  Keep reading and support this."
Used books, cds, dvds, records, games and puzzles are donated (tax deductible) to BCPA from residents, libraries, bookstores, estate sales, etc.  Book'Em volunteers pick up, sort, organize and sell these items at the annual sale. For advance notification of the sale you may sign up for an email reminder that will be sent when we know our location and sale dates and then again just prior to the sale. Revisit our website frequently for specific information about the upcoming book sale.

The primary drop-off location is at the sale site. The drop-off will be available usually about 10 weeks before the start of the sale. Additional drop-off sites are located in Bloomington. Please refer to the donation page for dates and location.    If you are moving, down-sizing, disposing of an estate or have other circumstances where you can't store until Drop-off locations are open, please contact us at board@bcpamn.org. Please email if you have any other questions regarding the book sale.

More About the BCPA

The Bloomington Crime Prevention Association (BCPA) is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization that has been serving the Bloomington community since 1981.  The purpose of BCPA is to provide grant assistance to community organizations aligned with our mission of crime prevention in Bloomington.
A volunteer Board of Directors of 6 to 20 individuals is elected to serve two year terms.  Officers elected annually include a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Past President.  Board meetings are held the 4th Thursday of each month.  For more information please see By-Laws.
Our fund raising programs include the annual Book'Em Used Book Sale, Residential Memberships, Corporate    Memberships/Sponsorships, Wills & Bequests and Grants.  If you are not currently a member, please go to the Membership page and sign up.  Your support will be greatly appreciated by the Bloomington community.
We support many Bloomington community based crime prevention programs and events.  Support is provided through grants, donations and scholarships.  Major funding is provided to National Night Out, Neighborhood Block Captain's Workshops,  Bloomington Police Department, numerous Bloomington School District violence/crime prevention and safety education programs, Bloomington Community Education safety programs for "high risk" populations and many other crime prevention initiatives.
