Community Grants

Used Books for Children

This past year, BCPA grants have been awarded to a 

variety of different groups. Some of these include:  

  • The Bloomington Police Dept., Bloomington Public Schools, Maria's Voice and Oasis for Youth.  
  • BCPA grants must be used for Bloomington resident, school or business initiatives. Grant applications should demonstrate that they will benefit the public by providing crime prevention or safety programs.
  • All applications will be reviewed and awards will be made in November of 2025. 
  • Grant awardees will be notified via mail by the Board of Directors.


The BCPA will be initiating the grant process in the Fall of 2025. Please email board@bcpamn.org with an application request and notification will be provided when the Grant Application is available for completion and submittal.

Student and Community Grants

Law Enforcement-Related Student Scholarship Guidelines

Bloomington Crime Prevention Assoc. Logo

  • BCPA will award a scholarship(s) to a Bloomington resident who is a full or part-time student enrolled at a Minnesota State College or University, Community College, Vocational or Technical Institute.  Academic emphasis or interest in coursework in the area of criminal justice, law enforcement and/or community crime prevention is the focus of the scholarship award.  
  • Specifics:
    *Two $1,500 Student Scholarships may be awarded at the discretion of the BCPA Board​
  • *Student must be registered and enrolled in a Minnesota State College or University,      Community College, Vocational or Technical Institute 

*Student must submit a letter/email of interest (1-2 page maximum) to BCPA that includes: 

  • Contact Name, address, phone, email address
  • Verification of current semester enrollment at a Minnesota higher educational institution 
  • Brief biography
  • Career goals and interests description
  • Description of community service and/or volunteerism
  • Interest in crime prevention
  • One to two personal references which include full name, street address including zip code, email and phone number(s)​

*IMPORTANT:    Letter should be addressed to Bloomington Crime Prevention Association and sent with copy of fee statement/course schedule (attach scanned copy to email or include with letter)
